So this was taken on the 1st day of #adascisessions2024 and I just feel like it’s very … β¨MEβ¨ ππ
Words truly cannot express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to attend this year’s American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions as a #dedoc° voice.
Together, we brought 669 years of lived experience with #diabetes to the #ADASciSessions2024 from various countries around the world.
My heart is so full to have spent time with each and every one of these voices - witnessing the passion in their hearts to bridge the gaps, share, and advocate for the lived experience of people with diabetes in a space where it is so important for us to be heard π
Last year, I attended the #adascisessions solo as a #pwd (person with diabetes). This year was magic being able to join other #voices from around the world.
The message I want to share with you today is that you don’t need to hold a certain title, designation, or even acquire a benchmark of the amount of years in lived experience with #diabetes to be worthy of sharing your voice.
Your experience is enough. You are enough. Your voice matters π£οΈ
#dedoc° believes in the core principles of peer support and the Diabetes Online Community:
#nothingaboutuswithoutus
#wearenotwaiting
#payitforward
I am attending the #adascisessions this year π and I am so honored + filled with gratitude to announce that I partnered with @amdiabetesassn to share a virtual guided meditation series that I designed to help integrate mindfulness breaks into this year’s American Diabetes Association’s 84th Scientific Sessions in Orlando, Florida!
“Betes Breaks” includes: 4 guided meditation practices, each 15 minutes in length, available on the virtual platform for both in-person and online attendees.
I’m thrilled beyond thrilled to share this creation with the Diabetes Community at the #ADASciSessions this year! π

Hi! I’m Sabella, T1D Yoga Coach
My whole life I’ve been on a mission to explore the world and effect change to make a positive difference in the lives of many. I’m a recovering perfectionist, an explorer, sometimes anxiety-driven, and definitely a visionary. Above all, I’ve got Big Diabetes Energy!
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2002, at the age of 11.
Like the ups and downs of blood sugar, I spent years riding the emotional rollercoaster of living with type 1 diabetes.
For the longest time my diabetes management was primarily focused on managing my blood sugar & physical health. Although both are important in living a healthy life with T1D, it wasn’t until I began to approach my health + wellness from a mind-body-heart-soul perspective that I started to experience health & happiness simultaneously.
With the wisdom of yoga as my foundation, I’ve learned how to live in partnership with type 1 diabetes and I’m here to share everything I’ve learned in my journey to help you do the same π€
